Job DescriptionJob Purpose: Ultimately responsible for the material handling activities in Fort Wayne facility.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Responsible for the daily activities of the Materials department including shipping, receiving, support of production, inventory management, material handling equipment upkeep, and 5S activitiesOperate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc. to move stock and organize inventoryUnload incoming shipments and confirm that received materials match packing slips and that items are undamagedStage and load outgoing shipments and confirm that outgoing materials match bill of ladingAudit outbound shipments for accuracy and maintain all shipping processesSupply production area with needed materials from inventory based on work ordersRemove finished goods from production area and properly storePerform other duties as required by production needsMaintain KATA board and prepare daily outbound and inbound schedulesUtilize ERP software and ERP interfacing hand scanners to input data and export reports as necessaryActively solicit and submit suggestions to develop and implement process improvements```{=html}
```- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on all handling equipment- Champion the areas safety program and coordinate statutory training and compliance- Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care- Periodically evaluate staffing levels to ensure human resources are adequate and properly positioned to support current and future Material Handling requirements- Assist in the development and implementation of visual factory tools and continually monitor their effectiveness- Promote Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques in all manufacturing and administrative processes- Execute all responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards as established by company policies and procedures:::
