Job Objective:Deliver electrical engineering expertise in support of capital projects and facility operations and maintenance activities in accordance with applicable specifications, standards, and federal and state regulations.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Provide electrical engineering discipline support to Project Engineers and field personnel, including Foremen, Site Facility Engineers, Maintenance Leads, and Electricians.Develop engineering designs, calculations, analysis, and estimates for projects and OandM support.Participate in project life cycle from conception to close-out of all electrical systems across multiple assets.Engage project stakeholders to ensure operational objectives are achieved.Specify fit-for-purpose electrical equipment to meet project schedule and budget targets.Attend relevant factory witness inspections and factory acceptance tests of new electrical equipment.Lead electrical designers and perform technical reviews to approve electrical design packages.Analyze and develop solutions for electrical fault events, power quality issues, and load shed schemes.Coordinate with Hilcorp Electrical Administrators to develop safety and inspection criteria.Establish the required level of engineering drawings needed for accomplishing the work performed under their supervision.Interface with third party contract consultants to review and provide oversight and input to design packages.Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive solutions to field requests.Manage and update facility power system models.Abide by all required safety and environmental policies and procedures.Facilitate learning before, during, and after completion of any job or major activity.Assist in installation, functional check-out, and commissioning of new equipment.Ensure operation of electrical systems and equipment by advising preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting.Adhere to the Hilcorp values - Integrity, Urgency, Ownership, Alignment, and Innovation.Support Hilcorp's Vision and Mission.Other Job Responsibilities:
Understand and participate in the MOC system.Participate in Quarterly Electrical Safety Meetings.On-call availability outside established working hours in support of Operations questions or emergencies.This position requires travel (up to 20%) to field facilities and other offices throughout Alaska, as well as periodic work outdoors in arctic and industrial facility environments, to validate field conditions and establish and maintain good working rapport with operations and maintenance personnel.Other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.Five (5) years minimum experience required as a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer.Oil and gas industry experience required.Considerable knowledge of low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems up to 69kV, including power generation, transmission, distribution, protection, maintenance, and safety.Considerable knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards including NFPA, API, IEEE, ISA, UL, NEMA, and ANSI standards.Experience with power system modeling software, such as ETAP or EasyPower.Knowledge of the State of Alaska Administrative Codes, Statutes, and Regulations that govern electrical work in industrial oil and gas facilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, other departments, and field personnel.Self-starter able to work proactively and independently to provide support to multiple assets.Education Requirements:
