Position Summary
The Corps maintenance position is designed to give practical support by providing maintenance services to the facility programs, members and staff. This position is designed to provide maintenance services throughout the week. Employees may also be requested to perform other reasonable business-related duties by their immediate supervisor or center management.
Essential Functions
Although not limited to, the following are the responsibilities of the maintenance person assigned to the Corps:
Routine maintenance of the Corps facility including, but not exclusive to:
Assist in maintenance/cleanliness of the facility. This is included but not limited to restrooms, kitchen, gym, sanctuary, offices and common areas.
Removal of trash
Keep outside areas free of trash and clutter
Keep an inventory of supplies and restock as needed
Setup, clean up, break down for weekly programs and special events. Special might require to work on weekend
Report facility damage and repair needs to the Corps Officer and Red Shield Director
Assist with special events as assigned
Oversight and maintenance of Corps facility projects
Maintenance of outdoor areas
Perform other assignments/duties as needed and/or directed
Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Must be able to grasp, push and pull objects such as general office and small recreational equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications
Driving Test and clean MVR check (if applicable).
If working in vicinity of children a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
Ability to operate small power tools.
Ability to read, understand, and explain manufacturers’ warnings, labels, and instructions.
Working knowledge of building systems including, but not limited to, plumbing, and electrical.
Background check required.

Working knowledge of Salvation Army policies, procedures and programs, as well as a compassionate understanding and adherence to Salvation Army ministry and mission
