Transportation Engineer 2 with Arcadis U.S., Inc. (Atlanta, GA)
Develop plans for surface transportation projects, according to established engineering standards and state or federal construction policy. Prepare designs, specifications, or estimates for transportation facilities. Plan modifications of existing streets, highways, or freeways to improve traffic flow.
Assist in the development and design of infrastructure projects for roadways, including intersections, collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates and interstate interchanges. Prepare designs, specifications, or estimates for transportation facilities. Perform varying roles on multi-disciplined projects including planning, technical design of minor projects, production, and assisting the Project Manager and lead engineers. Assisting in developing project scopes and budgets. Interface with clients and maintain client needs for the Project Manager. Maintain project schedules and ensure project compliance with all practices, including quality and safety standards.
This position allows for remote work and reports to the companys office in Atlanta, GA.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Position requires 1 year of related experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: AutoCAD, Auto CAD 3D, Microstation, and InRoads; AASHTO and relevant state DOT design standards and policies; Roadway design (Horizontal Design, Vertical Design, alignment profiles and cross sections for projects) for state route, city, and county route; Layout and development of infrastructure design, including intersections and roundabout which include cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans and project displays; Develop 2D typical sections for both urban and rural roadway sections; Design calculations and analysis including superelevation rates, sight distance and guardrail length; Quantity take off for roadway, drainage and erosion control plans; and Concept Report writing following DOT design standards and policies.
