Job Description:

HOW A TEST MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Develop and oversee comprehensive testing strategies for application development, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product owners, to define and refine testing requirements.

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA analysts, automation engineers, and testers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Design, implement, and monitor automated and manual testing processes, focusing on functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Ensure test plans, test scripts, and test cases align with business requirements and project goals.

Drive the adoption of testing automation frameworks to increase efficiency and accelerate delivery cycles.

Monitor test execution, analyze results, and provide comprehensive reporting, including defect tracking, root cause analysis, and process improvement recommendations.

Champion best practices in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate quality metrics, identify risks, and ensure timely resolution of issues.

Foster a proactive approach to quality assurance by advocating for testing earlier in the development lifecycle (Shift-Left Testing).

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

7+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role.

Strong experience in managing testing teams across multiple projects and driving QA best practices in Agile and DevOps environments.

Expertise in automated testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar frameworks.

Proficiency in performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and defect management systems like Jira or Azure DevOps.

Solid understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and their integration into testing workflows.

Experience developing test strategies, test plans, and test case documentation for enterprise-level application development.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Proven ability to analyze complex application requirements and ensure optimal test coverage.

Familiarity with API testing using tools like Postman or RestAssured.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience working with cloud-based applications (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for test automation.

ISTQB or similar QA certification.

Experience working in regulated industries with a strong focus on compliance, data security, and privacy standards.

Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:

ISTQB or similar certification in software testing.

Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
