We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.
Part-Time Telework : This position is a full-time role that offers part-time telework flexibility in the Richland, Washington project office. Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full time presence in the Richland, Washington project office, then may offer part-time telework flexibility. This position works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.
Please be advised that the telework designation of the position may be changed in the future at the discretion of the company or project.
Position Summary:This position is for a Technologist Power BI/Electronic form developer. This position will independently develop, test, implement, and troubleshoot software process improvements including Power BI dashboards and electronic forms and will also support the project continuous improvement team by delivering software solutions for process improvements. This position will be a direct report to the Contractor Assurance Systems Manager.
Responsibilities:The primary role of the Continuous Improvement Technologist is to support the Contractor Assurance Manager and Continuous Improvement Manager and other Quality Group Supervisors, to develop and implement software solutions which include process metrics (i.e., Power BI dashboards), and electronic forms.
Responsible for the development of new web-based forms, modifications to existing forms, and basic administration of the electronic forms applications.
Responsible for the development of new reports, modifications to existing reports, and basic administration of the reporting applications.
Gathers functional customer requirements and transform those into required technical development.
Makes frequent contact with users as necessary to gather or give status information, address project needs and requirements.
Identifies sources of relevant data and maintains data integrity.
Supports meeting presentations, including preparing presentation slides.
Assures the work is performed to the high quality standards for nuclear facilities while executing to the schedule.
Has excellent communication skills and can demonstrate leadership, quality, and safety values within the work group and to interfacing disciplines.
Skills and Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field. In lieu of a degree 6 years of related experience is required.
Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (even if teleworking, must be able to must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
Minimum Qualifications:Power BI.
SQL Server Reporting Services. Experience writing basic SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers.
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Good analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to understand customer requirements and expectations.
Capable of designing form and report solutions to meet user departmental needs. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
Excellent focus on customers, peers to ensure expectations are met. Excellent communication skills, including interfacing with Stakeholders to gather software requirements.
Experience in basic program coding, logic, data structure, and troubleshooting.
A strong aptitude for utilizing the computer to collect, organize, and present technical data through the use of relational databases.
Possess the desire and ability to monitor large quantities of information and employ efficient extraction techniques in response to requests for information. Possess the ability to accurately identify and capture relevant technical fields/details from within large data sets.
Preferred Qualifications:Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate Certification.
PL-300 Certification.
Experience in Power BI dashboard development.
Experience managing local Power BI servers.
Experience testing and troubleshooting of developed reports and dashboards for accuracy, reliability, and performance.
