About Supervisory Facility Support Assistant

  Summary About the Position: Serves as the Supervisor for five facility support assistants in the Army University (ArmyU) performing facilities management, maintenance, personnel security, physical security, safety, energy conservation and environmental compliance programs for nine separate large campus buildings and adjacent areas covered within the AmyU footprint at Fort Leavenworth. Responsibilities As a Supervisory Facility Support Assistant, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Schedules shifts, training, teaching, counseling, performance reviews, and development plans for the employees. Maintains Internet based personnel security and access control databases for faculty, support staff, students and contractor personnel. Ensures entries in databases are current, accurate and contains up-to-date access control information. Implements building access restrictions as required and ensures controls comply with applicable regulations, guidelines, and the Provost's guidance. Performs periodic inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with maintenance, physical security, safety, energy conservation, and environmental regulations, guidelines and directives. Provides security and maintains situational awareness for a variety of Garrison and CAC special events. Prepares incident reports and conducts fact finding investigations for occurrences of breach of security, safety violations, or other extraordinary occurrences. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Due to the normal line of progression, specialized experience is as follows: Specialized Experience for current or former Federal employees serving on a career or career-conditional appointment: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience providing facilities support such as, assisting with the control and/or physical security of buildings/assets, assisting with the maintenance of buildings/grounds, etc .Specialized Experience for those who are not a current or former Federal employee: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service providing facilities management which includes maintenance/physical security of buildings/assets and utilizing automated databases to manage controlled access to facilities. -OR- Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Facilities Management, Operations Management, or other related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Facilities Management Leadership Technology Application Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) 18 Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Recruitment, relocation, and/or retention incentives are not being offered for this position. This position is eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework."
