Supervisor, Technical Operations

Division/Location:
At Viral Vector Services (VVS), a division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, we deliver from process development through commercial supply, and we offer the expertise and resources vital to help clients deliver innovative gene therapies. VVS is an experienced viral vector CDMO passionate about process and analytical development. With more than a decade of experience, our 500-strong, highly skilled team has managed over 100 client projects delivering first-in-human clinical materials to accelerate our client's products from the laboratory to patients in need.
How will you make an impact?
The Technical Operations Supervisor will direct a team of specialists who are responsible for authoring manufacturing documentation including master production records, standard operating procedures, work instructions, job aids, and learning documents. As the supervisor, you will manage the scope, capacity and workload of your team based on the requirements for each client program. In this role, you will interact with cross-functional partners in Manufacturing, MS&T, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality in order to build robust documentation for the Manufacturing team to leverage during client runs.
What will you do?
• Lead a team of RSO (Responsible System Owner) specialists who are responsibile for authoring, reviewing, and/or editing procedures and technical documents to support manufacturing process including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and batch records.
• Participate in continuous improvement plans for right first time, deviation reductions, and driving compliance through CAPA implementation.
• Promote a culture of transparency and accuracy of the project schedule, and update dashboards accordingly to highlight project status to critical milestones.
• Develop a culture of safe operations and implement safety improvements across
manufacturing systems.
• Actively participate on cross functional manufacturing teams to advance projects goals and deliverables.
• Mentor and develop new specialists to build skills toward becoming effective system owners.
How will you get here?
Education
Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field highly preferred.
Experience
• Minimum of 5-8 years industry experience, and a minimum of 2 years experience in GMP
environment
• 2 years of supervisory leadership experience highly desired
• Strong technical writing experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to foster a collaborative work environment
• Ability to learn new software and tools quickly, coding experience preferred
• Demonstrated leadership; interpersonal, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to function in a dynamic environment and balance multiple priorities simultaneously
• Ability to aseptically-gown and/or sterile gown
• Technical and operational SME
