Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Student Engagement Coordinator is to assist in the growth of enrollment within the Hillier Collegeâs undergraduate, graduate and professional certificate programs. The Student Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for implementing strategies that enhance the visibility and reputation of the Hillier College of Architecture and Design among key audiences. This person will be charged with increasing the visibility of the College among potential students, their parents, and the local and national design community. Strategies must drive and support annual enrollment goals, increase awareness and contribute to the overall success of HCAD and its programs. The candidate will bring sales, and/or higher education recruitment experience to execute innovative ways to reach the target audiences and generate and nurture quality leads for HCAD programs. The Student Engagement Coordinator reports to the HCAD Director of Administration and has a dotted line report to the Executive Director of University Admissions. The candidate works in collaboration with the Office of University Admissions on the overall HCAD recruiting plan to meet goals. In addition, the Student Engagement Coordinator works with the Collegeâs leadership team and other HCAD staff as needed to accomplish these goals
Essential Functions:
The Student Engagement Coordinator will work in close coordination with HCAD staff, the NJIT Offices of Strategic Communications and University Admissions to support action plans and augment strategies and tactics used to achieve recruitment goals. This person will also perform the following tasks:
Represent HCAD at targeted recruitment events such as college fairs, open houses, and meet and greets on and off campus
Provide regular updates and best practices in industry through benchmarking and competitive research.
Effectively track and measure HCAD recruitment information in the University CRM, application and marketing automation systems with metrics related to the enrollment lifecycle, ensure that all events and leads are being recorded, and evaluate the effectiveness of specific events and activities.
Implement an effective HCAD recruitment strategy at the direction of the Collegeâs Leadership for assigned target audience(s) for graduate and undergraduate professional programs.
Coordinate personnel and logistics in collaboration with the Office Coordinator and Director of Administration for on-campus and external recruiting events including but not limited to Open Houses, Experience Days, National Portfolio Days, and College Fairs which may require travel, evening and/or weekend work.
Work in collaboration with Strategic Communications to develop creative assets for a variety of channels including but not limited to print and digital marketing and media.
Assist with increasing HCAD student enrollment and outreach efforts on and off campus.
Update HCAD website pages for undergrad and grad-focused content relative to prospective students.
Additional Functions:
Manage relationships with internal departments such as university admissions and strategic communications.
Provide status reports that track qualitative and quantitative metrics from events and campaigns as required.
Functionally manage student participation for HCAD recruiting events as needed.
Serve as a liaison between HCAD administration and the leaders of the Student Organizations within HCAD.
Promote HCAD summer programs for high school students.
Share feedback with HCAD leadership and instructors as needed.
Attend weekend and/or evening recruiting events as required.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public relations, business, communications, marketing, design discipline, or a related field. Experience in writing, reporting, and sales/marketing.
Excellent computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Minimum 3 yearsâ experience.
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to meet reporting deadlines and balance multiple projects.
Friendly and outgoing. Service oriented. Experience with popular online publishing platforms and all social media platforms.
Knowledge of Adobe creative suite is a plus.
Experience with Drupal or other website development platforms.
Experience in social network management.
Experience in analytics reporting.
