We’re hiring a Strategy Manager to play a critical role in the success of the collective department, driving key strategic initiatives and actions across the Construction Industries Services Division (CISD) and across the enterprise. This is a highly strategic role that relies on effective networking and exceptional interpersonal skills, as there is significant interdependency across Caterpillar with key business partners and visibility to senior leadership.
Role Summary: Diligently focused on delivery and execution, this role relies on strategic perspective to ensure the most relevant outcome and impact. The position often confronts complex issues or problems, which require careful analysis and diagnosis. Provide important and strategic input, facilitation, and governance Problems are often unique, and solutions can require non-traditional approaches. You will establish and then monitor general policies and guidelines for projects under your control to ensure specific management goals are met, and desired results are achieved.
Job Duties:
Lead cross-functional collaboration within the division and with business partners to understand internal and external variables that could impact the strategy and drive business growth.
Coordinate and develop annual business plan and department expense budgets and results and coordinates rolling business management with Business Resource Center.
Manage metrics, dashboards and management tools to monitor performance and develop processes to ensure rigorous data governance to maintain data integrity standards
Organize and facilitate leadership meetings, ensuring clear action items and timely follow-up
Attend and present at various executive/department meetings to keep a pulse on the business and help connect the dots with others across the company
What You Have
Progressively responsible roles held in commercial support (sales, marketing, operations)
Excellent communication/interpersonal skills including ability to develop and present information clearly
Strategic Thinking capabilities: ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization
Data Gathering & Analysis skills: ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment
Exceptional relationship building skills: being accessible, responsive and focused on execution visibility and governance
