  JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  The Penn State Psychological Clinic (https://psych.la.psu.edu/psychological-clinic/) , a fully licensed comprehensive outpatient community mental health center, is seeking applicants for a full-time Staff Psychologist for adult and/or child and adolescent psychological services.   The start date for this position is as soon as possible, but applicants who will not graduate with their Ph.D. or Psy.D. until May or June 2024 will also be considered.

  The Psychological Clinic provides psychological and psychiatric outpatient treatment and psychological and neuropsychological assessment for adults, families, adolescents, and children, as well as school- and community-based intervention programs.

  The clinic is among the largest associated with a doctoral training program in the United States and serves as the training and research site for the Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology.

  The Staff Psychologist will focus on clinical work for adults and/or children/adolescents and will be responsible for providing:

  Individual and group psychotherapy for a broad range of clinical disorders in both short- and long-term treatment formats

  Initial consultation , diagnostic assessment , and comprehensive psychological and/or neuropsychological evaluations for clients with a wide range of mental health, behavioral, emotional, and developmental concerns

  Clinical resident instruction for the Psychology Training Program and Psychological Clinic including clinical supervision of graduate students and practicum instruction

  Other primary responsibilities include collaborating with staff and other professionals to provide the best care possible for Clinic clients, completing all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner, and performing all services according to relevant ethical and professional standards of care.

  Education and Experience:

  This position typically requires a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and a year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Applicants must have had one year of a full-time pre-doctoral internship in professional psychology and be eligible to become a Licensed Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

  In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.

  Additional Information:

  This is a limited-term position, funded for one year from date of hire, with an excellent possibility of re-funding.

  This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
