Description This full-time Staff Accountant position is with a terrific Wholesale Distribution company. In this role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Your responsibilities in this role
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations Requirements - Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience preferred
Proven knowledge of Expense Reporting
Practical knowledge of NetSuite
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Bank reconciliations experience
Well-founded grasp of Excel Formulas
Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Strong familiarity with account reconciliation
General familiarity with NetSuite
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
ERP system experience
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
