Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary opportunity. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Responsibilities
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll Requirements - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Strong familiarity with construction
Construction Accounting experience
Expertise in sales and use tax
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Skilled with ERP systems
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
