Job Description:
As a Sr Scientist Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE), you will serve as an Anti-Tamper (AT) Subject Matter Expert (SME). You will lead the charge to develop, assess, implement, and verify AT solutions in accordance with DoDD 5200.47E.
You will work closely with a variety of personnel, ranging from fellow L3Harris SMEs to vendors, customers, and government evaluators.
Serve to ensure the ISSM's priorities for system authorization efforts are communicated effectively to the L3H personnel that perform functions that impact or support the achievement of an Authority to Operate (ATO) to include: software authorization, DevSevOps pipeline design, compliance, vulnerability and software code scanning activities, system security testing, authorization documentation development, system hardening, etc.
This position helps ensure that L3H efforts facilitate the movement of multiple information systems through the RMF process and authorizations are maintained through continuous monitoring and annual reviews.
Participate in risk and vulnerability assessments (as required) of information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs, coordinate L3H efforts to develop Security Impact Assessments (SIAs) of proposed system modifications for submittal to the ISSM.
Collectively demonstrate exceptional technical competence, reliability in delivering mission-critical infrastructure, and continually ensure the highest levels of accessibility, optimization, and security.
Understanding of both software engineering, hardware engineering, and program management.
Prepare and present technical results for internal and external program meetings
Document and support infrastructure, network, & mission processor design verification tests within lab, ground and flight test environments.
Develop, track and present technical metrics
Manage requirements using collaborative tools through all phases of the project.
Read and interpret block diagrams, wire diagrams, mechanical drawings and circuit schematics
Essential Functions:
Active Secret and must be eligible to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Clearance, ability to travel, working extended hours
Lead the development and implementation of AT throughout the System Development Lifecycle. Key tasks include:
Assessing systems for Critical Program Information,
Conducting trade studies,
Developing AT requirements,
Implementing security architectures,
Assessing threats via attack/countermeasure analysis,
And conducting Verification and Validation activities.
Author technical reports for review by customers, government authority, and/or key DoD decision makers.
Work cross-functionally to ensure security architectures meet all stakeholder needs.
Support internal and external working groups, technical interchange meetings and design review milestones (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.) with customers and suppliers.
Serve as a SME in the areas of Cybersecurity and AT.
Develop engineering efforts and support proposal efforts.
Train and mentor developing engineers to bolster internal talent.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 15 years of prior direct program experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 13 years of prior direct program experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior direct program experience.
Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills. Comfortable interacting with technical peers and working as a part of a team. Capable of writing clear, logical, and effective documents/presentations for the consumption of both technical and non-technical personnel.
Active Secret and must be eligible to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Clearance, which requires US Citizenship
Preferred Additional Skills:
CI Poly
Experience implementing embedded system-oriented security solutions on Department of Defense systems
Experience with reverse engineering, cybersecurity (RMF as defined by NIST SP 800-37), or other relevant systems security engineering fields
Experience with NSA-approved cryptography
Experience with Model-Based System Engineering and tools
Experience in Software Assurance and/or Supply Chain Risk Management
Knowledge of Hardware Description languages (Verilog, VHDL, etc.) and/or software programming languages (C/C++, Assembly, Python languages, etc.).
DoD 8570.01-M Certifications (e.g., Security+, CASP+, CySA, CISSP, etc.)
Experience working in Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facilities and/or Special Access Program facilities
