　　The Production Engineering Team plays a crucial role to Abiomed by ensuring our life saving products are built to the highest quality and efficiency standards. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Production Engineer to join our diverse team. The successful candidate will play a meaningful role in owning the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes, as well as ensuring the highest level of product quality, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturing efficiency.

　　Principle Duties and Responsibilities :

　　Process Improvement:

　　Lead initiatives to optimize existing manufacturing processes, focusing on efficiency and quality improvements

　　Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to streamline workflows and reduce waste.

　　Work closely with production teams to identify and address process bottlenecks

　　Yield Improvement:

　　Analyze manufacturing processes to find opportunities for yield improvement.

　　Develop and implement strategies to enhance product yield and overall production efficiency.

　　Collaborate with multi-functional teams to address root causes of yield issues and implement sustainable solutions.

　　New Product Introduction:

　　Work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, and other departments to facilitate the smooth transition of new products to the manufacturing shop floor.

　　Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure efficient and cost-effective production processes.

　　Issue Management:

　　Act as a focal point for addressing and resolving manufacturing issues that require heightened focus.

　　Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution of highly-visible issues.

　　Develop and implement protocols for handling critical issues to minimize impact on production schedules.

　　Qualifications

　　Job Qualifications:

　　Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

　　Minimum of 12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the medical device industry.

　　Proven track record of successful yield improvement and process optimization projects.

　　Experience in leading the introduction of new products to the manufacturing shop floor.

　　Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

　　Excellent problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

　　Effective communication and collaboration skills.
