  Summary:

  We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Hardware and Mechanical Manager to join our team developing state of the art test and measurement products. The candidate will hold a highly visible position in a very dynamic, multi-tasking work environment. The position is a managerial and technical role where you will be responsible for working with a cross functional teams to provide hardware and mechanical solutions for all products. This role requires both technical and leadership skills to be successful across the differentteams/locations/products.The successful candidate must have a proven ability to utilize personal leadership, communications, and team development skills to help align the teams on architecture, tools and processes while maintaining our innovation leadership.

  Duties and Responsibilities:

  Responsibilities:

  Manage a team to develop and maintain products as per organization policies.Design and implement strategies to organize Hardware Engineering Group to ensure maximum output.Monitor and prepare reports for all RandD activities associate with Electronics Hardware development.Prepare Hardware schedules and budgets for various development projects.Develop and implement strategies to improve products for better yield and reliability.Collaborate with Operations Teams to transform new product design into mass production.Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality departments and prepare reports for any defects.Coordinated with internal departments, senior management, and external customers to ensure efficiency.Coordinate with various vendors, outside services, and contract manufacturers as required.Mentor team members with regard to best practices and processes.Work with project management organization to supervise various project implementations as per schedule and report development to senior manager.Lead feasibility efforts driving innovation into products.Drive performance and verification test processes as per requirements.Display experience and participate in full lifecycle of development for products.Support our "One-Team" initiative to converge on tools/processes across the different RandD locations.Exercise Business Acumen to make smart business and product tradeoff decisions across entire business.Work cross-functionally to perform risk assessments to encourage teams to take informed risks with measured consequences.Interact with diverse areas (e.g. marketing, systems software architecture and product development teams, other divisions) to achieve business unit goals.Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

  Education and general experience:

  BSEE or equivalent experience (required), advanced engineering degree (preferred)Five plus years of hardware design and developmentSkills and tools:

  Coordinate technical discussions and collaborate with other system architects to make design decisions and implement new featuresAct as a technical lead and provide mentoring to junior hardware engineersSolid understanding of hardware and mechanical development life cycleOutside Service Experience:

  Work with and identify outside services to aide in various stages of product developmentDefine SOWs and create responsibilities matrices to define work breakdown and tasksWireless Technology:

  Familiarity with industry standard wireless technologies (Wifi, BT, Cellular, etc) and complianceCompliance Experience:

  Solid understanding of component, battery and product complianceWork with vendors and manufactures to define, test, and document compliance specs, test plans and test reportsUnderstanding of basic EMC, Safety and Mechanical tests (Shock, Vibe, HALT, etc.)Organization development and communication:

  Strong interperso al skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team buildingDemonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new technologies and techniques.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and abilitiesAbility to define and create project management plans and documents to present project status to senior management. Must be results oriented to achieve project goals by doing whatever is necessary to move the team forward.Ability to work across sites, time zones and cultures to deliver on project goals in addition to overall company initiatives.Additional Consideration:
