Job Summary

This position is part of the Financial Trading Team. The role is primarily responsible for proprietary profit seeking activities. This role will have a trading pl budget and be expected to produce profit. This position includes both individual and team responsibilities. Overall, this position will be considered as a wholesale commodity market subject matter expert.

Key Accountabilities

Financial Trading

Point of view trading strategies and execution to contribute to trading profit

Development of short-term trading fundamentals in coordination with long-term Fundamental group

Apply market knowledge and insight to make informed risk management decisions for trading book

Portfolio Optimization Support

Corporate hedge strategy, planning, and execution participation

Asset desk fuel, NGE, extrinsic value optimization

Wholesale market liquidity enhancement to support organization

Thought leadership aiding asset/load books timing, structuring, and positioning

Wholesale Market Expertise

Abreast of wholesale market information about flows of capital, risk, and positions in commodity space

Overall point of view creation based on wholesale market dynamics informing various internal teams including management, planning, compliance, risk, and portfolio management

Works with Luminant and TXU Energy to optimize results pertaining to the commodity space

Education, Experience, Skill Requirements

10+ years relevant experience

Minimum of 5 years experience trading, analysis or structuring in energy space

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills

Key Metrics

Ability to manage multiple projects, change priorities as needed, and achieve results through others

Financial structuring skills a must; understanding how to evaluate embedded real options in a portfolio of energy assets

Excellent leadership, business, financial, problem solving and communication skills required
