What does the role look like?
We are seeking a SIOP & Materials Excellence Lead to join the Operational Excellence function based in Wolverhampton, U.K. The role will be accountable for driving process excellence across SIOP, material planning, production control and delivery assurance (supply chain) activity within all Actuation sites globally. This will involve the ability to operate strategically as well as adopt, where needed, hands-on tactical execution to support the Actuation sites.
Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of SIOP, material planning, production control and delivery assurance processes, as well as experience of managing process improvement activities across multiple value-streams or functions, with a proven track record of delivering results. The focus for the candidate is around Material Planning, Master Scheduling, Supply Planning and Production Control with additional knowledge of Delivery Assurance, SIOP, Demand Planning. They should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to be at ease collaborating with multiple functions, value-streams and sites is essential.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
Drive maturity of standard policy and procedures for key SIOP & materials management processes, including process mapping and creation of standard work.
Integrate with Actuation sites to assess and ensure adherence and alignment to Collins Management System (CMS) on materials management processes.
Functional expert in driving maturity across actuation sites on Plan For Every Parts integrating with Effective Materials Planning (EMP) methodology or others. Progress monitoring in place and focus on process maturity that ultimately drive optimal inventories level to cover service required, demand & other process variation.
Document best practices and monitor progress with sites of key activities that can bring improvements on ERP signal stability and mature areas of expertise such as exception message management, master production scheduling & others.
Ability to drive continuous improvement activities on diverse projects related to both the SIOP and Materials Management function, including digital systems and automation projects (Pelico, ..)
Ability to coach sites as needed in production control processes including short term scheduling, production planning, production order release/maintenance, shortage management, rework orders and management of quality notifications, scrap & engineering changes.
Apply SIOP knowledge to work cross functionally with actuation management and with sites/value stream functional leaders, on resource requirements planning, monthly SIOP cycle, SIOP & Materials management reviews.
Support deployment of functional skills & competencies standards across sites with focus on training and guidance within the Material Management disciplines of expertise.
Support the function in promoting initiatives that can foster collaboration and Inclusion (Materials & SIOP bootcamp, Community of practice, Teams channels..)
Maintain and monitor necessary KPI’s for actuation (e.g. SIOP Dashboard metrics) at the required frequency as needed.
What will you bring to the role?
Essential skills:
Broad understanding of material planning and production control processes, including Effective Materials Planning (EMP) philosophy
Understanding of Operational Excellence, SIOP and Materials Management functions
Problem solving techniques and ability to work on own initiative
Desirable skills:
Experience using ERP and MRP systems, preferably SAP (Production and APO)
Proven experience in Microsoft Excel at an expert level (Visual basic, etc.)
Competent in other Microsoft Office programs, particularly PowerPoint
Demonstrated track record of high performance standards in managing process improvement activities and communication across multiple value-streams or functions
The ability to think creatively and apply influential personality to foster strong relationships and motivation within Actuation sites and functions
Able to analyse large amounts of data and draw clear conclusions and decisions
Good organisational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail
Passionate desire to excel against demanding customer expectations
Willing to travel and work flexible hours to support communication across different time zones
