  We are looking for you to join our team as a Senior Test Engineer - On Call based out of Woodland Hills, CA. As a Senior Test Engineer - On Call at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. Through the use of Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices we continue to evolve how we deliver critical national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter.   What You'll get to Do:

  This position supports the design, development, build, and test validation of ruggedized optical products for military applications. The candidate will be responsible for solving challenging problems through the development and application of optical technologies including fiber handling, designing test fixtures, performing optical component testing, and supporting hardware evaluation.

  The task will require on-site attendance and will be on an on-call basis.

  Basic Qualifications:

  9 years of experience with a Bachelors degree; 7 years of experience with Masters; 4 Years with a PhD; an additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree

  Expertise experience testing optical components for sensors

  Experience with thermal chambers, optical components for fiber optic gyros, optical fiber handling, fiber cleavers, fiber splicers, laser diode controllers, thermal electric temperature controllers, optical spectrum analyzers, optical power meters

  Experience with test setup, design of hardware for mounting components, optical test procedures, quality assurance provisions for qualification of components

  Ability to generate test reports and present findings

  Must have U.S. Citizenship

  Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

  Preferred Qualifications:

  20 years of experience testing optical components for sensors

  Active Secret Clearance

  Experience in the defense industry

  Salary Range: $120,900 - $181,300

  The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
