We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to designing and constructing a military training device. The successful candidate will be responsible for calculating all facility electrical, power, and HVAC requirements for the system, as well as creating design documents to support Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), and Technical Data Package (TDP) development. They will also play a crucial role in collaborating with the project management team, Lead Systems Engineer, and purchasing department to acquire, deliver, install, and integrate system components at the integration and test facility. Additionally, the Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for removing old equipment and installing new equipment at the customer's location overseas, ensuring the system is ready for final Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Responsibilities:
Calculate facility electrical, power, and HVAC requirements for the military training device based on system specifications and performance criteria
Create comprehensive design documents in support of Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), and Technical Data Package (TDP) submission
Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and customer-stated requirements during the design and construction phases
Collaborate with the project management team, Lead Systems Engineer, Quality Assurance, and purchasing department to acquire and deliver system components
Responsible for receiving and performing preliminary equipment tests, adding equipment to the asset management system, and affixing a Mil-130 label per the job requirements
Responsible for software/driver installation, connectivity, and operability interfaces with all subsystems
Oversee the installation and integration of system components at the integration and test facility, preparing the system for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Remove old equipment and oversee the installation of new equipment at the customer's location overseas
Oversee the installation of system and subsystem components at the customer's location, preparing the system for Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Ensure the system is ready for final Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team throughout the process, identifying and resolving any technical issues or challenges that arise
Ensure compliance with company ISO and Quality Management Standards
Travel 30% to 50% including OCONUS
You’re required to have this
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Extensive experience in systems engineering, with a strong background in calculating facility electrical, power, and HVAC requirements for complex systems
Proficiency in creating detailed design documents in support of PDR and CDR activities
Proficiency in developing a comprehensive Technical Data Package (TDP)
Thorough understanding of industry standards and the ability to interpret and apply them to system design and construction
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Demonstrated experience in acquiring, delivering, and integrating system components
Proven ability to remove old equipment and install new equipment at customer locations
Familiarity with Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) procedures
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Previous experience working with military training devices
Previous experience with Arena lifecycle management software
Familiarity with OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) operations and logistics
