The hardware as a service (HaaS) of M365 core is responsible for the capacity and hardware capability from cradle to grave by aiming the mission of enabling the delivery of M365 Service at scale with optimized capacity management and greater than 99.9% hardware high availability in order to empower every person and organization on the planet. There are 5 areas, capacity planning/forecasting, OS&SKU qualification, HW Health and Repair (HHR), Fleet management for HW deployment, and Sovereign cloud (including Air-Gap Cloud) support.
As a team member of the M365 Sovereign Fleet team, you will be responsible developing new features, improving performance and driving down costs of goods shipped (COGS) for the service. Your responsibility will be to analyze, design and implement improvements to implement new features while reducing COGS and drive those changes across a big product group.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software components, services, systems, and features in large scale, distributed cloud environment.
• Work with peer engineers, partner teams and program managers across US/India and China to deliver cutting edge cloud technology.
• Resolve problems of any scope and aid other team members on a consistent basis.
• Lead the way with impactful feedback to peers during code reviews and improvements to the code review process.
Qualifications
• BS/MS in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or a related engineering field.
• 5+ years relevant work experiences in one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, C/C++, Python, Go etc.)
• Ability to work independently, work smart, manage multiple priorities and deliverables concurrently in a fast-paced environment, and deliver all this at high quality.
• Good communication skills and English skills, including ability to write concise and accurate technical documentation, communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences both in Chinese and English.
