Bureau Veritas N.A., Inc., a global leader in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry, is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to ensure operational excellence and quality service delivery for our Code Compliance Operations located in the Southern Nevada region.
The successful candidate will bring technical excellence complemented by a strong business acumen and strategic thinking to support the continued growth of the business unit.
Essential duties may include but not be limited to:
• Provide exemplary customer service to all individuals by demonstrating a willingness to be attentive, understanding, and responsive, fair, courteous, as well as respectful, and to actively participate in maintaining a positive customer service environment.
• Develop and Manage new programs to support growth of services in core markets with focus on Building & Safety, Fire Life Safety and Civil.
• Supports the generation of annual revenue growth objectives through identifying new opportunities that align with core services of code compliance / building safety services for municipal governments and private developments.
• Support Building Official related duties and responsibilities.
• As needed, assist with various unique examinations of construction documents / building design plans and specifications of new construction of commercial and industrial buildings to determine compliance with the provisions of applicable construction codes, ordinances, and regulations.
• Assist with various unique building code compliance inspections of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings during various stages of construction and remodeling to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations; may be responsible for approving the issuance of building permits.
• As needed respond to code related questions from developers, builders, contractors, and/or property owners.
• As needed interact and confer with architects, contractors, builders and the public in the field and office; explain and interpret building requirements and restrictions.
• Read, research, and objectively explain and interpret building code requirements along with other laws pertaining to regulation of buildings, and tactfully communicate, orally and in writing, with staff and/or clients, while maintaining effective relationships
• Attend and participate in local, regional, and State industry association meetings; stay abreast of new trends, opportunities, and innovations in the field of Building and Safety
• Solidifies, strengthens, and proactively expands Bureau Veritas’ relationships with our public and private industry clients. Essential Skills and Abilities
• Strong leadership skills. • Extensive experience working with municipal government, with a focus in Building Construction Departments, Engineering, Fire or Public Works development.
• Ability to explain and interpret code and related regulatory requirements.
• Business acumen, strong analytical and strategic mindset.
• Effective mediator of conflicts between peers, direct reports, and clients.
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively motivate and influence others.
• Proven skills for teamwork and collaboration.

Education/ Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Science, with 7 to 10 years’ experience managing an engineering or code compliance department or operation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Demonstrated success leading and managing multiple personnel in one or more operational and/ or engineering functions (plan review, field inspection, engineering project oversight, project management, etc.).
Work Environment: An employee in this position typically works in an office environment with heating and air conditioning but will regularly travel to customer and/ or vendor work sites which will require exposure to external environments.
Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds.
The vision requirements include: ability to adjust focus, distance vision and close vision.
Travel will be required to client sites (indoor/ outdoor construction) up to 50%.
Expenses: When required or directed to travel, Employee will be reimbursed for reasonable expenses to include, but not be limited to, vehicle mileage (federal rate) from office / home office to required destination, meals, coach air fare, airport parking, rental car and fuel, tolls, ride share or taxi fees, and hotel accommodations.
Employee will be required to maintain accurate records and receipts and submit using appropriate company procedures.
