　　Jacobs Engineering is the Nuclear Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield Ltd under the Programme and Project Partners (PPP).

The programme arrangement is set to deliver £7bn worth of major projects creating a lasting legacy through the long-term partnerships.

　　We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join the Lightly Shielded Store Project (LSS1) to be based out of Birchwood.

　　As a Senior Mechanical Designer you will lead a small group of Designers to deliver required technical outputs to meet business need. You will also contribute to the delivery of development type work producing cutting edge mechanical equipment and testing rigs underpinning new technology and providing an excellent service to our customers.

　　Key Responsibilities;

　　Production of computer aided design drawings from concept level through to manufacturing detail, meeting relevant standards and our own expected high engineering standards and specifications

　　Ensuring design deliverables meet required standards of accuracy and quality, that all drawings are appropriately verified and performing verification of colleagues’ drawings

　　Working as part of a team with multi-disciplinary engineers and scientists – mechanical, electrical/C&I etc.

　　Here's What You'll Need:

　　HNC/HND in a relevant engineering subject and/ or demonstrable design experience

　　Computer literate, including competent in the use of Excel for calculations

　　Knowledge of the principles of engineering drawing to support manufacturing requirements

　　Experience in designing mechanical components and systems

　　Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, remote operations in a nuclear environment or mechanical handling preferred

　　Experienced in AutoDesk AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor 2D/3D design software
