Responsibilities

　　Meritage Homes is hiring a Senior Land Development Manager who will be responsible for overseeing development projects from pre-acquisition through closeout to ensure communities are delivered on budget and schedule. Other primary duties include:

　　Manage consultants, trade partners, governmental agencies, utility providers and others to deliver communities on time and budgetOversee development budgets and cash flows from project conception to closing for accountability and accuracyWork with local, state, and federal jurisdictions to receive necessary permits for developmentPresent community information to internal and external groupsDevelop and implement systems/processes that will improve operational quality and efficiencyManaging direct reports to drive productivity and efficiencyAssist in development-related due diligence items for potential acquisitions, including preparation of budgets, schedules, and reviewing construction drawingsValue engineer plans during due diligence phase and as project developsProvide detailed cost analysis and schedules for projectsCreate bid packages for consultants and trade partnersNegotiate projects with consultants and trade partners to achieve most economical and efficient outcomeProvide detailed bid analysis, in order to award contractOffice/Field time split (20/80)

　　Qualifications

　　10+ years of Project Management experience in the construction industryDegree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar field (PE preferred)Experience with production homebuilder or master developer (preferred)Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in ExcelFamiliarity with AutoCAD/Bluebeam (preferred)Previous supervision/management of direct reportsLocal trade and vendor knowledge (preferred, but not required)
