Microsoft Americas Enterprise finance team is looking for a Senior Finance Manager with deep analytical and communication skills, business acumen and thought leadership to support and drive our financial rhythm and growth ambitions for the United States Northeast (US NE) operating Unit ($5B+ revenue).
This role will support Microsoft’s commercial growth through deep financial analytics & insights in a key growth region for Microsoft. The role will be the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) for the US NE Operating Unit Sales leader and partner with the Operating Unit leadership team. You will have the opportunity to develop your financial analysis, product insights, business partnerships and communication skills, while driving impact across the business. Finance plays an integral part in developing growth strategies along with providing clarity to the sales team to drive tactical and financial/strategic execution of Microsoft’s business priorities.
Skills required to be successful are deep analytical skills, ability to work through ambiguity and in collaboration with cross functional teams, demonstrated communication skills and ability to partner and influence decision makers. The role requires a high degree of agility and skill in navigating multiple stakeholder requirements while enabling the accelerated growth aspirations for the business in an evolving and competitive market environment. Executive maturity and balanced self-awareness will be important in influencing business partners and in driving thought leadership beyond the pure finance mandate.
Responsibilities
Prioritize
Support rhythm of the business across all the stakeholders with efficiency and effectiveness
Drive understanding of business health through deep analytics and incorporating industry & customer level insights
Provide actionable insights to the business to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results
Support CFO forecast and budgeting process to land growth commitments with clear assumptions and drivers. Understand and manage business risk
Partnership
Communicate results and insights to leadership in a compelling and crisp manner with deep understanding of the business
Drive actions with stakeholders to achieve business goals including revenue generation, resource allocation, and investment decisions through close collaboration
Lead on-going efforts to develop and evolve our insights framework with key partners across finance and business to stay up to date with the business need and land growth opportunity
Deliver impact by building on the work others, aligning people and resources, and fostering shared accountability
Protect
Ensures compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring accuracy of financial documents and business processes; drives corrective measures. Consults with business partners on sharing financial information, approved instruments and processes, and consistency with corporate policies
Collaborates with Compliance groups to ensure team is current on company policies and procedures
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Team player and collaborator who has demonstrated energy in ambiguous situations. Ability to handle a high degree of ambiguity, and fast paced change management
Expertise in financial planning and analysis, including analysis, forecasting, planning, reporting, and developing financial models. Attention to detail and accuracy
Written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple groups, responsive with a customer service orientation
Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
