Summary:
In this role, you will work with Provider organizations, Vizient businessunits, suppliers, and other stakeholders to provide expertise andeducation. This position will work on a diverse set of clinical andoperational topics that cause significant challenges for the pharmacy healthsystem in the ambulatory space, including but not limited to specialtypharmacy, revenue cycle, site of care considerations, biosimilars, andmanagement of high-cost drugs in relevant disease states. The successfulcandidate will be proficient at research, and medical literatureevaluation, have excellent written and verbal communication, be innovativeand strategic, and have previous experience in pharmacy formularymanagement, evaluation of drug utilization trends, and selection oftherapeutic alternatives. You will be responsible for the development anddelivery of resources on a variety of topics strategic to the growth of healthsystem pharmacy in the ambulatory space.
Responsibilities:Monitor drug development pipeline and medical literature in relevanttherapeutic areas.Monitor and identify environmental changes due to new drug approvals, lossesof exclusivity, regulatory revisions, legal decisions, or other factorsand forecast the potential economic impact on provider organizations.Coordinate and lead programmatic offerings across departments throughout theorganization to address critical member needs in the outpatient setting.Facilitate and lead member councils, conferences, and expert panels andother groups as needed.Serve as a clinical subject matter expert for internal team and externalproviders, as required.Supervise undergraduate Pharm.D. students and pharmacy residents duringclinical-based rotations.Represent Vizient as a principal thought leader both internally and externallyin meetings, conferences, and other speaking and presentation engagements.Enhance existing product-specific tools and approaches to increase contractvisibility and utilization; may partake in the development of new tools andapproaches in partnership with others.Identify relevant advocacy issues and work with the Vizient public policyoffice to advance these causes after member requests.
Qualifications:Minimum Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required. Doctor of Pharmacy ispreferred.5 or more years of relevant experience in an ambulatory pharmacy role isrequired.Experience as a Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator orManager is preferred.A strong understanding of both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services andtrends is desired.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft (Proficient with Excel Spreadsheets) isrequired.Ability to work well in a team environment or as an individual contributor.Recognition or certification by the pharmacy profession is preferred BCPS(Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist) or BCACP (Board CertifiedAmbulatory Care Pharmacist).Pharmacoeconomic and health outcomes training preferred.
Estimated Hiring Range:$117,600.00 - $175,050.00
