Actalent is seeking an experienced SCADA and Controls Engineer to support DG control systems design and integration for a leading firm in the utilities industry. This role is full-time, on-site Monday- Friday and internal with the client from day one.
The SCADA Engineer will be a part of an engineering team near Columbia, MD, working on Electrical SCADA Systems. This team is specifically responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of their government client's SCADA systems, which monitor and control electrical power for the Department of Defense's client across various site and campus locations world-wide.
Active security clearance or the ability to gain clearance is required for this team.
Job Responsibilities:
-Evaluate project blueprints, electrical one-lines, and control schematics for each project.
-Apply industry knowledge for solving complex design and application problems to provide customer deliverables of high quality
-Support SCADA point-to-point and commissioning events and keep detailed records to track testing, identification of issues and logs of resolution steps
-Build/maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors
-Interfacing and coordination for M2M, B2B, DNP3
-Network Design, Specification, BOM, Sourcing
-Device Control Network Design, Specification, BOM, Sourcing
-PLCs (Schneider, IEC 611-31 Programming)
-SCADA & HMI systems (Wonderware, Ignition)
-HMI Panels & Panel PCs (Schneider, Red Lion, Eaton)
-IT Infrastructure, Radios and Cell Modems (MDS, Freewave, Sierra, Ubiquiti)
-Communication Protocols (Modbus, TCP/IP, MQQT, OPC)
-Can generate Bills of Materials for Automation systems and panels
-Control software design and programming PLC, SCADA
