Research Technician
Description
The Research Technician is responsible to collect environmental and biological data. Responsible for entry and QC of data, and providing basic maintenance and operation of sampling equipment. Assist with laboratory sample analysis and processing.

Position is grant funded and continuation is contingent upon future funding.Duties:
Conduct environmental field and lab data collection.
Clean, organize, and prepare sampling equipment in support of research and monitoring projects.
Maintain, calibrate, and operate field and lab environmental data collection instruments and gear and performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of two years of experience working in water quality or other aquatic environmental monitoring/research program or equivalent combination of academic and work experience.
Valid Driver's License upon hire.
Knowledge of the scientific method.
Knowledge of basic environmental concepts and common biological sampling techniques.
Knowledge of calibration and maintenance of environmental sampling equipment.
Able to communicate in both oral and written formats.
Proficient organizational skills.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
Ability to conduct physical work in outdoor environment.
Ability to work in a team setting.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Aquatic Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or closely related field.
Three years of experience working in water quality or other aquatic environmental monitoring/research programs.
