Responsibilities Serves as a Recreation Specialist within the Recreation Program Team involved with planning, organizing, and conducting facility recreation programs for the community. Organizes, plans, and evaluate community programs that reflect community interests. Works in executing community-wide recreation events, programs and services to meet the diversified needs of the community. Develops and plans publicity using installation media. Recommends items if supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience OR a combination of work experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
