The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Virginia (UVA), School of Medicine is recruiting a highly-motivated tenure-eligible faculty member (open rank) to lead a translational research program focusing on DNA damage response, genomic instability, and/or carcinogenesis. Rank and tenure status will be dependent upon qualifications.

　　The successful candidate will be expected to maintain extramural funding, and contribute to the department’s and to UVA’s academic and research missions. Teaching responsibilities will be minimal, and include assisting with the Radiation Biology Course for our Radiation Oncology Physician Residency program. A competitive start-up package is available for an outstanding investigator. UVA has a very active and increasing number of investigators in the areas of DNA damage response and genomic instability. The successful candidate will, therefore, be encouraged to collaborate with and actively engage others in both the Department and the UVA NCI-designated comprehensive Cancer Center to stimulate program development of radiation response/sensitizers, and will additionally have the opportunity to engage in related clinical trials. Although the primary appointment for this position will be in the Department of Radiation Oncology, a secondary appointment in a basic science Department is anticipated.
