Provides assessment of patients, consultationwith other health care providers, development of the patient care plan,evaluation of the outcomes, and the education and training of thepatient with regard to Respiratory Care. The therapist communicates,organizes, delegates and works cooperatively as a member of the healthcare team to continuously improve the quality of patient care servicesdelivered in routine, emergent and outpatient. The therapist serves as aprofessional resource for the department, the health care team, and thecommunity. Respiratory Therapists are required to exercise independentjudgment in many tasks.
