Job Description
AECOM India is seeking to hire a Quantity Surveyor for our Gurgaon Office. The Responsibilities, required experience and qualification are summarized below:
Position Title: Quantity Surveyor
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:
Conduct detailed cost estimations for construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
Analyze and evaluate project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost implications.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial plans.
Provide advice on cost-effective measures and alternative solutions to keep the project within budget constraints.
Tendering and Procurement:
Prepare and analyze tender documents, evaluating contractor bids and providing recommendations.
Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate and finalize contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
Cost Control:
Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction phase.
Identify and address cost variations, ensuring that any changes are properly documented and approved.
Value Engineering:
Work with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities to enhance project efficiency without compromising quality.
Risk Management:
Assess and manage potential risks related to costs and contracts.
Implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize financial impact on the project.
Progress Reporting:
Generate regular reports on project costs, progress, and financial forecasts.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on cost-related matters.
Compliance and Regulation:
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, building codes, and legal requirements.
Stay informed about changes in regulations that may impact project costs.
Post-Contract Analysis:
Conduct post-contract analysis to evaluate the success of the project in terms of cost control and financial outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., RICS) may be preferred.
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
Proficiency in relevant software tools for quantity surveying and cost estimation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
