Based in our Cudahy, WI location, you will be responsible for supporting the Quality team in quality performance, supplier development, strategic initiative selection and implementation, commodity quality, program/project implementation, and closure of PPAP and corrective actions. This is an opportunity to gain and apply practical knowledge using quality, lean, and problem-solving principles/tools to drive quality, delivery, and service improvements. Support and develop Root-Cause-Countermeasure (RCCM). Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and other department team members to identify, analyze and guide improvement initiatives.
AS A QUALITY ENGINEERING INTERN, YOU WILL:
Assist Engineers with daily responsibilities.
Work quality problems through countermeasure implementation and track improvements.
Participate in troubleshooting, recommendation, implementation and tracking of internal corrective actions.
Assist with and perform CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) analysis and periodic reporting and tracking of quality performance.
Use statistical tools to track Scrap and Rework reduction corrective action initiatives.
Assist in creation and closure of supplier PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) approvals, deviations, audit findings, and corrective actions.
Work with Warranty and Service departments to capture customer issues, use statistical analysis to identify performance trends and develop recommendations for improvement opportunities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering
Ability to work full-time during summer 2024 and part-time throughout the school year
Ability to investigate and problem solve complex situations
Ability to analyze and interpret data, create reports, and prepare presentations
Working knowledge with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Strong time management skills
Strong verbal and written communication.skills
Legal authorization to work in the United States - Work authorization will not be provided for this role
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
Interest to gain a broad knowledge of various manufacturing processes
Demonstrated project management skills
Strong communication skills including delivering presentations
Prior experience with one or more of the following commodities: steel, welding, castings, motors, machining, ASME coded pressure vessel materials
Broad knowledge of various manufacturing processes
Quality systems and process audit experience

Flexible Work Schedule – Core Hours
This role has the flexibility of a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.
