JOB SUMMARY:Provide technical support to all areas of the plant in assessment, implementation and maintenance of Quality systems that meet or exceed customer and TS 16949 standards. Assist in formal problem-solving activities. Facilitate continuous improvement in product quality, cost, and customer satisfaction. Ensure quality of products through engineering and statistical practices to maintain and improve manufacturing process controls. Must be able to work with all plant disciplines, customers, and suppliers. Individual needs to be self-motivated, aggressive, and able to work well with others.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct internal Quality System and EHS audits.Monitor progress and verification of audit generated corrective actions.Create and maintain system standard procedures.Instruct employees on Statistical Process Control fundamentals, use of electronic and paper generated SPC charts, obtain and analyze statistical data from internal and external sources. Prepare statistical analyses into reports as required by internal and external customers.Act as the primary customer contact for APQP, warranty and miscellaneous customer concerns.Analyze returned product for warranty resolution; request and coordinate laboratory analysis; document and distribute results.Act as the primary supplier contact for APQP, PPAP and other planning processes.Interface with suppliers to coordinate action on failure issues on parts and services.Work with the corporate Purchasing Team to initiate solutions for problem suppliers.Act in Product Engineering role for house accounts, launch RFQs (request for quote), initiate design change request, review print specifications, recommend materials to customers, and launch prototypes as required.Follow the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions; and suggests ways for continual improvementAdhere to EHS rules and regulations and suggests ways for continual improvement.Provide training in quality systems and related areas such as APQP, BOS, Problem Solving, and SPC.Assist in the development of process flow diagrams, control plans and inspection.Create operating instructions with R&R studies, CPH analysis and containment documentation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: Must be degreed
EXPERIENCE: 5+ years' experience in the automotive industry or equivalent of combination of education and experience
REQUIREMENTS:Experience working in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing setting.Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as technical specifications (TS16949, ISO14001); blueprints, material specifications, etc.Advanced skills in using Word, Power Point and Access.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Must be an independent, self-starting individual.
