  A part of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center, Texas A&M School of Dentistry (https://dentistry.tamu.edu/) in Dallas was founded in 1905 and is a nationally recognized center for oral health sciences education, research, specialized patient care and continuing dental education. As one of the fastest-growing academic health centers in the nation, the Texas A&M University Health Science Center encompasses five colleges and numerous centers and institutes working together to improve health through transformative education, innovative research and team-based health care delivery. 

   

  What we want

  The School of Dentistry is looking for an Program Manager to serve in the Periodontics department.  We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine.   What you need to know

  Proposed Minimum Salary: Salary will be commensurate based on the selected applicant's experience.

  Work Schedule/Location: This is an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm.

  Qualifications

  Required Education and Experience:

  Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Five years of experience in program management/administration.

  Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills.

  Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.

  Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Supervisory/management experience

  Related experience in a dental/medical/clinical/healthcare setting

  TAMUS or related higher education experience

  Essential Duties/Tasks

  Resident/Predoctoral Program Administration

  Onboard incoming Periodontics Residents with welcome packet and offboard graduating Periodontics Resident.

  Coordinate and collaborate with Graduate Program Director to develop Periodontics Residents academic schedules.

  Serve as liaison between TAMU School of Dentistry Periodontics department and Children’s Medical Center and Baylor University Medical Center for Resident rotations.

  Plan, organize, direct and manage day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures for the administration of academic programs.

  Assist Predoctoral Program Director with ordering supplies for and setting up preclinical laboratories and examinations for second year dental students.

  Take weekly class roll and coordinate with Predoctoral Program Director on requirements for absent students.

  Assist with the development, production, and ordering of materials designed for both programs.

  Co-ordinate with the Office of International Affairs to assist in the registration of the Non-employee Clinical Observers

  Other duties as assigned.

  Clinical Administration

  Supervise Clinical Staff including management of timecards and time off requests.

  Complete requisitions and coordinate with other support staff for clinical and office supply orders.

  Maintain logistics and account coding and billing for Stomatology Clinic.

  Facilitate staff hiring.

  Event Coordinating

  Organize Resident interviews and select catering options for interviews.

  Direct and work with other support staff to plan and execute the annual Arthur Meritt Memorial Lectureship.
