Job Title: Print Production Specialist
Job Summary:
Are you a print specialist with a current clearance and prior experience in print production for a federal agency? We want to hear from you!
In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate production of printed materials in support of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). This includes preparing files for print, performing clerical tasks associated with printing, and coordinating with printers. The print production specialist must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities Include:
Developing production methods to meet the customer's schedules
Reviewing print requests to ensure they are complete and that the requirements have been clearly defined
Obtaining clarification if print requests are incomplete or the requirements have not been clearly defined
Determining the appropriate print suppliers and coordinating the appropriate printing procurement activity with the U.S. Treasury Printing Office/Government Publishing Office
Providing suggestions to prescribe policies and procedures for the procurement of all mission-essential printing, binding, related supplies, and related services
Interacting with vendors in the printing industry to ensure policies and procedures are kept in place
Operating one or more copying/printing/plotter machines to make copies or printouts of documents of varying sizes
Using laser cutting and engraving equipment
Mounting, framing, and utilizing a vacuum press
Using tools like binding machines, cutting blades, and rulers to crop illustration board, foam core, and printouts
Combining templates and structured data sources to create mail merges
Taking phots and videos and editing the content
Performing clerical duties associated with requests for design, printing, and photographic services
Tracking work and delivering and picking up products and materials
Maintaining an inventory of supplies and parts needed for reproduction equipment
Coordinating repairs with vendors
Meeting daily production goals and quality standards
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to lift 25 lbs
Secret clearance
Proficiency in software current to the printing industry, such as Adobe Creative Suite 2021 and Microsoft Office 365
Ability to combine templates and structured data sources to create mail merges
Ability to operate one or more copying/printing/plotter machines to make copies or printouts of documents such as letters, reports, presentations, manuals, business cards, posters, large format printouts, contact sheets, covers, and bulletins
Ability to use laser cutting and engraving equipment
Demonstrated experience operating high-speed copiers/printers/scanners/vacuum presses/cameras and binding equipment, including the ability to coordinate tasks and maintain accountability for vital project functions
Ability to mount, frame, and utilize a vacuum press
Experience taking photos and videos and editing that content
Ability to work independently
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with supervisors and management
Desired:
Current relationships in the printing industry
Experience with printing procurement for a federal agency
Work Setting and Environment:
Monday - Friday, normal business hours
Work is to be performed at the FinCEN office in Vienna, VA
