JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: This post-doctoral levelposition will contribute to fundamental advances in the analysis oflarge-scale, complex genetic and genomic datasets with a focus on cancerand hematologic traits. The postdoc will be involved in both appliedprojects in Genetic Epidemiology as well as methodological projects inStatistical Genetics. We seek a highly collaborative individual thatexcels in a team environment and that can contribute to multipleprojects simultaneously. The postdoc will be supervised by Dr. Paul Auerand will work with other members of the Auer lab to advance research instatistical genetics. Primary Functions Plan, design and implement novelstatistical approaches to analyzing large-scale genetic data.Participate as a statistical analyst on large-scale genetic and genomicstudies with responsibilities ranging from designing studies, todeveloping analysis plans, and conducting sophisticated and cutting-edgedata analyses. Contribute to science through both independent andcollaborative research, including co-authoring and (in some cases)lead-authoring papers. Assist in outcome interpretation and compositionof the results sections of manuscripts and reports. Communicate resultsto collaborators and larger scientific audiences at researchconferences. Lead efforts to apply novel statistical methodologiesrelated to the genetic and genomic epidemiology of cancer. Regularlyreview the latest research methodologies in statistical genetics anddevelop plans for implementation. Implement reproducible researchstandards, including sharing code and using version control software.Participate in regular meetings with the principle investigator,research staff, and collaborators.
