Description: Within our Fort Morgan, CO manufacturing facilityLeprino is seeking a highly qualified Plant Safety Leader. Will you turn yourpassion for safety into impact by directly fostering a safe environment forevery single person that steps foot in our facility?
At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically rangesbetween $83,100 and $99,800. This position has an annual target bonus of 10%.
Training & Education: Conducts new hire safety orientation andcompliance-based job-specific safety training.Conducts train-the-trainer courses for the monthly safety training topic,and periodically audits training success and provides feedback on thedepartmental delivery of the training.Supports departmental safety meetings and pre-shift meetings by providingsafety topics for discussion.Makes safety visible in the workplace through various postings, safetymessages, campaigns, and other strategies.
Engagement: Facilitates an effective safety steering committee through theidentification, development, and sharing of injury trend analysis and keyperformance indicators to drive ownership with the direct-line operationsmanagement team, their direct reports, and all employees.Assists management teams with identifying roles and responsibilities forsafety at the various levels of the organization and facilitates thoseactivities that will help all employees demonstrate their ongoing commitmentto achieving an injury-free workplace.Champions employee involvement through the creation and support of EmployeeInvolvement Teams for safety improvement opportunities including;training, inspections, accident investigations, ergonomics, emergencypreparedness, and safety activities/promotion teams.
Inspections: Performs various inspections (hazard recognition) relatedto general industry and food manufacturing to continuously improve workplaceconditions and behaviors.Coordinates/facilitates pre-use inspection process (i.e., hoists,ladders, fall protection, PIT).Develops and shares hazard recognition techniques with others to develop ateam approach for the onsite inspection process that covers the numerous legalaudits and inspections required in a manufacturing operation.
Regulatory Compliance: Implements and maintains compliance-based safetypolicies and programs to ensure that the facility meets and/or exceedsfederal and state OSHA regulations.Reviews proposed plant layout modifications and directs management of changeefforts to eliminate and/or control safety design hazards.Accompanies OSHA, and EPA officials on inspections and acts as liaison withagencies. Completes required governmental reporting and maintains requiredrecordkeeping.
PSM/RPM/HAZMAT Partners with the Engineering/Maintenance staff inmanaging and strengthening the facility s Process Safety Management(PSM), Risk Management (RMP), and HAZMAT programs.Helps drive the HAZMAT program by conducting HAZMAT responder certificationtraining, HAZMAT refresher training, and emergency response drills.Communicates key findings with interested parties/partners as necessary.Conducts monthly PSM Committee meetings.Coordinates the medical surveillance program for HAZMAT.Maintains site-specific emergency response plan and serves as the liaison withexternal agencies including local fire department.
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications): -A Bachelor s degree in Safety Management or a similar field, ORequivalent work experience.Proven experience in a professional safety/EHS position primarilywithin manufacturing.Experience as an influential leader, someone who is comfortable dealingwith any and all authorities for safety inspecti ns or audits.Must have experience in process safety, fall protection, forklift, andconfined space.We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):* Active affiliation with appropriate safety networks and organizations* Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional(CSP) certification.* Dairy or cheese plant experience (24/7 production operations).* PSM, Ammonia Refrigeration, Technical Safety Standards, DustCombustion, and Electrical safety experience.
