BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As Photojournalist 1, you will shoot and edit daily and special news assignments, conduct interviews, and gather all elements needed for story packages, including shooting VOs and SOTs. The role involves operating transmission/live streaming equipment and communicating regularly with news management while out in the field. You will work collaboratively with Multimedia Journalists, Reporters, and Producers, and manage the general upkeep of assigned company vehicle and equipment. You'll make data-informed decisions about what's resonating to connect our audience with the stories that matter. Regular assignments include having a front row seat to history while working at the Capitol, White House and Supreme Court.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS
Required Qualifications
Experience: Shooting and editing television news footage experience - 3+ yearsEducation: Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field or comparable television work experience preferredTechnical skills: Intermediate level proficiency in appropriate software applications or technologySkills: Ability to work under pressure during live breaking news, thorough knowledge of operation policies and proceduresAbilities: Ability to work on assignments that require some judgment within prescribed guidelinesTravel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community Schedule: Ability to work various shifts, longer shifts, weekends and holidays, and be flexible with schedule changes due to "breaking news", and/or severe weather emergencies

Working Conditions:
Works inside in a climate-controlled environment and outside throughout the year and may be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditionsDrives company vehicle to and from different locations in a safe manner by obeying all traffic lawsAbility to work different shifts, be flexible with schedule changes and able to cover stand-by responsibilities when assigned
