Job Summary: Provides technicaland clerical assistance to the pharmacist in the processing ofmedication orders and the monitoring of drug therapy. May procure,measure, compound, count, and deliver medications under the supervisionof a pharmacist. Functions within the guidelines of the WisconsinStatutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - PharmacyPractice Sections. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Oneyear of experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred. EDUCATIONDESCRIPTION: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Graduate ofan accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred. SPECIALSKILLS DESCRIPTION: Exceptional customer service and communicationskills. Detail oriented. Experience with various computer systems andprograms. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Application for Wisconsin registrationas a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtainedwithin 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until3/31/24 to obtain registration. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician(CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards exam(PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) isrequired within 6 months of hire.
