Job Overview The Operations Technician is responsible for safe, dependable, and efficient operations of shipping and receiving. This is a challenging and rewarding job that requires the employee to have a strong work ethic, problem solving capabilities, and close attention to detail. The Operations Technician performs the necessary steps to organize customer shipments, operate fork truck, navigate computer systems, follow shipping and receiving procedures, help manage inventory, and effectively communicate. Job Accountabilities Operational Excellence - Ensures customer shipments are filled on time and in the correct quantities. - Ensures customer purchase order requirements are met. - Displays basic understanding and knowledge regarding operation of fork trucks and associated equipment. - Ensures inventory accuracy by performing basic math and maintaining an organized workspace. - Displays basic ability to use shipping and receiving computer systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Oracle, Wavefront, etc. - Cleans and inspects all equipment, machines, bins, and work area. - Ability to complete forklift certification within 60 days of employment. Internal Collaboration - Collaborates cross-functionally between operations, engineering, sales, and quality. - Ability to cross-train within other areas of the plant (i.e., packaging) depending on the needs of the business. Quality, Safety, and Compliance - Ability to read, understand and use Product Manufacturing Instructions (PMI's), Job-Safety Analysis' (JSA), and schedule to accomplish daily shipping and receiving tasks. - Compliant with export procedures and dangerous goods regulations. - Compliance with shipping and receiving procedures. - Maintain equipment and housekeeping within work environment. - Supports and follows current and new safety initiatives/policies. Required Qualifications - Minimum High School Diploma or GED Required PLUS 4years of experience. - Must be able to read, comprehend and understand work instructions. - Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. - Must be able to operate fork truck, electric hoist, scales, and label machines. - Capable of lifting to 40lbs - Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, hand and finger manipulation, occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing. - Must be able to wear a face respirator.
