Perform daily operation and maintenance of the Tieton Hydro Project located near Naches, WA at Rimrock Reservoir on US Hwy 12. Tieton Hydro operations staff are required to report at this location each scheduled workday. Travel to and from the site is at the employee's time and expense. Tieton River flow is dictated by United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) located in Yakima, WA and close coordination with USBR staff, transmission line operator and others are required. On-call duty for operations are shared with one other operations staff member and work schedule and time off will require coordination to ensure Project success.
Independently perform preventative maintenance and monitoring activities at the Hydroelectric Project. This could include plant startup, manual shutdown and re-start. Be capable of installing new equipment and replacement components and possess a broad range of maintenance and troubleshooting skills. Have some knowledge of regulatory requirements and applicable policies and procedures. Must be capable of making decisions independently.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Provide project management and oversight for various business units as assigned by the Manager of Operations and Maintenance. This position is responsible for coordination and/or preparation of project trouble shooting, planning, operation and maintenance associated with the generation of electricity from non-nuclear sources (fossil/gas/geothermal, hydro, wind, solar).
This position also will place emphasis on supporting new business, expanding outside business and supporting the development of these opportunities through interface with prospective customers and interface with existing departments to coordinate the implementation of services. As Project Lead, oversee the development of oral and written proposals. Lead proposal teams that analyze Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements, prepare outlines and schedules, interface and coordinate with various corporate organizations, ensuring compliance with RFP requirements.
This position will interface directly with Energy Services & Development and other project management team members to assure that all aspects of the project oversight are accomplished in accordance with defined objectives and goals. This position will provide direct resource management necessary to achieve these defined objectives and goals. This position is responsible for providing effective and comprehensive communication to appropriate Energy Northwest and outside organization management teams to assure a full understanding of project status. This may include development of performance indicators, preparation of periodic reports and presentation of this material to the appropriate management personnel.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide trouble shooting, leadership, and oversight to Energy Northwest business and support units assigned. Responsible for establishing, obtaining and coordinating business activities to meet defined goals, monitoring overall performance, coordination with other operations areas and providing leadership for the accomplishment of long-term Energy Northwest objectives.
Prepare resource and budgetary plans, and oversee the effective implementation of each, consistent with the goals, philosophies and core values of Energy Northwest. Implement activities in a manner that supports an environment/philosophy of maximizing value to customers and stakeholders through optimized efficiency and continuous improvement.
Assure that a philosophy of personnel safety, station reliability and efficiency is maintained relative to oversight provided in applicable areas of outage planning, coordination and implementation, operation and maintenance, major maintenance/projects and strategic planning and coordination efforts. Maintain positive relations with state and federal regulatory agencies, public utilities and other various oversight organizations as would be customary and prudent.
Work directly with the assigned station management personnel to prepare performance objectives and monitoring tools for station personnel and equipment. Consider and evaluate recommendations/options and make/facilitate decisions relative to performance optimization of major equipment/systems and processes.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical or business field and one year of experience in trouble shooting, maintenance, electrical, mechanical and/or instrumentation at an operating generating facility OR an Associate’s degree and three years of experience in trouble shooting, maintenance, electrical, mechanical and/or instrumentation at an operating generating facility OR a High School Diploma/GED and five years of experience in trouble shooting, maintenance, electrical, mechanical and/or instrumentation at an operating generating facility. HS/GED is required.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
PLC troubleshooting and programming
AutoCAD experience
Strong schematic and wiring diagram reading
Mechanical system understanding and troubleshooting experience including hydraulic experience
Pay Range
$81,862.00 - $122,792.00 Annual
Midpoint:
$102,327.00
Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
Incentive Compensation
This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
