We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer. This position will be based in Heber Springs, AR.
The Energy Management MS Business Unit of Siemens headquarters is located near Raleigh, NC. The Heber Springs facility in Heber Springs, AR is responsible for our Overhead Switch products. The objective of the Mechanical Engineer is to manage the technical expectations of the project among the partners involved. This consists in ensuring that the end result of the switch design is in accordance with the contract specifications, functionality requirements, safety requirements, and the applicable technical regulations.
You will have an impact by:
Lead cost-reducing productivity measures for Overhead Switch Products through Design-To-Cost (DTC), and Material Cost Productivity (MCP) activities.
Oversee data collection and entry into Siemens’ Productivity tracking tool; One-Puma Web (OPW).
Collaborate with local Engineers, Production, Purchasing, Finance, R&D and other departments as necessary.
Take the lead on projects assigned to create all documents for customer approval and manufacturing of Overhead Switch Products. Typical documents include:
Drawings related to mechanical design of weldments, machined parts, and assemblies.
Provide factory support documents to ensure product delivered meets standards and customer requirements.
Utilize knowledge of various mechanical CAD software packages to complete project work and drive efficiency with process improvements, preference to AutoCAD and Siemens NX.
Develop knowledge of product and applicable codes and standards to complete required documents.
Be a technical project leader taking full ownership of results.
Understand that job descriptions change over time. You are expected to maintain competence, awareness, and compliance.
Treat all Siemens information and customer information in a confidential manner.
Understand and efficiently use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
At least 4 years of mechanical engineering experience
Proficiency with 3D engineering tools (Teamcenter, Solid Edge, Solidworks, Unigraphics/NX).
Proficiency with 2D engineering tools. (AutoCAD)
Familiarity with cost-reducing initiatives and oversight.
Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done with high quality in a professional manner.
Ability to multitask and handle full workloads and business demands.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to stay transparent about project status and planned completion dates.
An ideal candidate is detailed orientated and able to embrace a culture of quality & continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience with mechanical design and manufacturing for overhead switch products.
Familiarity with cost-reducing initiatives and oversight.
Experience with MRP solutions (SAP, Oracle, etc).
Experience with cloud-based CRM solutions (SalesForce, Microsoft Dynamics, etc).
Experience with VBA or other programming languages.
Experience with using programming to drive efficiency in projects.
Experience working with electrical distribution products and systems.
Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards.

The pay range for this position is $66,500 - $114,100. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
