  PAY RANGE

  The Target Pay Range for this position is $75,900-$92,600 annually. The full Pay Range is $59,000-$109,500 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

  Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year.   This role is primarily remote with monthly in-office days required. Open to current Washington state residence only. Must be located within reasonable driving distance to Tukwila, WA headquarters.*

  WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  Team Up with the Best : Collaborate with our outstanding digital, marketing, and design crews to best showcase our products and translate business goals into content magic.

  Craft & Shape Stories: Hone member-facing narratives that align to our business objectives for both digital and print assets. Bring our creative vision to life with dynamic campaigns and fresh copy that captures attention and prompts action.

  Be Our Brand's Voice : Help lead the way in keeping our brand voice vibrant and consistent. Infuse every deliverable with an authentic and welcoming tone that embodies BECU's core values.

  Master the Clock : Juggle writing projects like a pro, ensuring each item is delivered on time, and respond quickly and accurately to requested revisions.

  Partner for Quality : Cooperate seamlessly with multiple stakeholders, including Leadership and the Compliance team, to ensure your creations reflect accurate product knowledge and concise copy.

  Be Curious & Dive Deep: Regularly dive into our materials and the competition's. Spot opportunities and trends that will keep us at the forefront of the member experience.

  Stay Ahead of the Curve : Immerse yourself in industry updates and accessibility standards. Your insights will continually refresh and refine our approach, ensuring we always offer the best to our members. And of course, tackle special projects that pop up with the same zeal and passion!

  BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or Marketing or equivalent experience and expertise.

  Minimum two years of copywriting experience.

  Experience using Associated Press style writing guidelines.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  Previous experience in Marketing, Advertising Agency, Creative and/or Financial Services copywriting.

  Demonstrated experience producing clear, persuasive, original copy.

  Experience copy editing and proofing.

  Verbal and written communication skills.

  Ability to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.

  Critical and creative thinking, and presentation skills.

  PC (MS Office) skills, with the proven ability to learn new software.

  Demonstrated ability to leverage copywriting experience to provide consultation and guidance.

  Experience applying principles and fundamentals of usability and accessibility to user centered (UX/UI) copywriting.
