Job Description
We are currently seeking one Engineering/Science Student (Co-op position) for full-time employment opportunity to join our team in Ashcroft, British Columbia. The Engineering/Science Co-op student would work from May 2024 – December 2024 and work with their assigned manager to meet strategic corporate initiatives and executes successful capital projects.

IG Machine & Fibers Ltd. at the Ashcroft production facility is processing, coloring, and shipping granules used for the roofing system.

When you join us, you will:
Work with the Plant Maintenance team (Supervisors, Reliability Engineer, Millwrights, etc.) to rollout a new Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Shadow Millwrights and other Journeyman to create maintenance SOPs and SWIs
Assist the Reliability Engineer with a complete review of all current Preventative (PM) and Predictive (PdM) maintenance activities, developing and refining tasks as required to ensure assets are properly maintained
Perform spare parts optimization in support of PM and PdM inspection tasks for the highly critical assets
Assist the Maintenance Superintendent with project management, including tendering, negotiating, planning, installation, supervision of project, commissioning & project closeout.
Assist in the preparation of drawings and modeling to be included in projects Work with Millwrights to determine the best practices and ensure all vital information collected is transferred to a standard PM template, and drawings are updated as required.
Work on other engineering related projects to help with plant operations and maintenance
Performing other duties as assigned
Our ideal candidate will be:
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary engineering program, not in Master's Program.
Committed to health and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors • Strong computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Able to read and interpret drawings, proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks is an asset
Critical thinking skills, and high degree of organization are a must
Trouble shooting capabilities are an asset
Able to work in a team or independently as required
Hours/ Days / Schedule
The hours of work will be primarily Monday through Friday {30 - 40 hours, day shift}.
