The CNC Machinist Level I will produce precision metal components which require you to review engineering drawings operate and maintain equipment for forming raw metal by cutting, forming, and bending into reciprocating compressor-related components. One will read and interpret detailed engineering drawings to identify tolerance and size requirements, including working with engineering and production control as required.
The CNC Machinist Level I reports directly to and is fully accountable to the Manufacturing Manager.
*REQUIREMENTS*3.1 Graduation from high school and one (1) year experience in a manufacturing operation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3.2 Must be able to obtain OSHA-required Forklift Certification.
3.3 Will be computer literate, particularly in shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications.
3.4 Knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments include, but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.
3.5 Knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensions.
3.6 Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories on various machines.
3.7 Must possess the ability to coordinate a variety of routine projects and activities simultaneously without losing control, poise, or
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES5.1 Under the supervision of the manufacturing manager, responsible for producing quality parts.
5.2 Perform all of the necessary functions required to produce the component, including but not limited to loading the part, operating controls, deburring, and inspections.
5.3 Interpret drawings, specifications, and/or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished components, and setup requirements.
5.4 Keep work station organized and orderly, and make sure that production parts, tools, test equipment and documentation are properly store and maintained.
5.5 Insure intradepartmental and cross-functional alignment of procedures and best practices.
5.6 Identify corrective actions to prevent recurrent deviations.
5.7 Identify, develop, and implement process improvements, equipment improvements/upgrades.
5.8 Responsible for developing and maintaining standards for key areas. This includes working with counterparts to ensure cohesive standards are maintained.
5.9 Indentify and perform all required maintenance on equipment, facility, and tools.
5.10 Participate and be an active member in all manufacturing team meetings and other meetings as required.
