THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As part of the Moshannon District Mining Office, your main focus will be on conducting technical analysis and applying hydrogeology principles. You will collaborate closely with inspection staff to survey mining sites using global positioning system (GPS) technology, ensuring the protection of the surrounding environment. Your responsibilities will also involve collecting, analyzing, and compiling hydrogeological data to assess potential impacts on groundwater supplies. Additionally, you will review published reports to determine the eligibility of mining permits. This position offers a level of independence, allowing you to take the lead on your own work.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philipsburg.
This position requires travel to various job sites for inspections, field meetings, and sampling.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
No minimum experience and training required.
Special Requirement:
All positions require possession of an active license as a professional geologist issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
All positions require possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
