Summary:
The Launch Manager at Adient's Eastaboga, AL complete seat automotive manufacturing and assembly plant is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of launch related activities including product, process, tooling, customer requirements or supplier requirement changes. The Launch Manager will manage all activities for new program from design stage to mass production, including scheduling and timeline, EPM, VA/VE, event builds, status report, sales cost, and program cost.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop detailed launch plan and drive completion for all detailed milestones to ensure a successful launch.
Manage all items on the plant launch glidepath, ensuring timely completion to all items, notifying the appropriate management staff when items are at risk to a successful plant launch.
The launch manager will aid in resolution of open product issues.
Resolution of open process launch issues, tracking each issue to closure.
Complete component design reviews with the Launch SDT to ensure all quality and manufacturing goals are met.
Ensure that appropriate process controls have been identified and have been implemented within the assembly/manufacturing process.
Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system & follow through to drive implementation of solutions.
Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system, tracking each to closure.
Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
Developing training plans and tracking methods to ensure that all employees have been sufficiently trained relative to any and all new products and process assignments.
Program leader for all new model programs.
Time study for new model quotes: assembly and weld process times.
Comprehend new program requirements and customer expectations.
Identify manufacturability concerns and present recommendations for improvement.
Utilize methods of continuous improvement.
DESIRED/PREFFERED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Five to ten years of progressive responsibilities in manufacturing.
Launch experience in automotive seating strongly preferred.
BSME, BSIE or Equivalent experience
