GENERAL PURPOSE:
This person will collaborate and communicate with the Breastfeeding Medicine Providers, pediatricians, families and team at the ambulatory clinic while caring for families and providing expert lactation and breast/chestfeeding support and counseling. The IBCLC will support dyads and ranging from healthy to more complex dyads. They will support the health/wellness of the dyad and promote best lactation practices. This person will serve as a resource to families in the ambulatory setting and collaborate with the healthcare team to promote safe lactation support and guidance.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comprehensive parent and infant assessments related to lactation care and breastfeeding/chestfeeding
Assist in the development of safe feeding plans and promotion of health, wellness and meeting feeding goals through lactation support.
Manage common lactation concerns, suggest strategies to support feeding goals, and advise evidence based best practices to improve outcomes and help care for families, assess breastfeeding/chestfeeding sessions, assist in pumping and hand expression, advise to higher levels of care as necessary for health promotion, collaborate with healthcare teams.
Educate about lactation and breastfeeding/chestfeeding.
Assist in formation of feeding goals, using culturally sensitive and using family centered approach, mindfully creating a DEI safe space at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate or Baccalaureate degree preferred
Lactation experience with birth parents and infants preferred
IBCLC certification required

Pay Range
Pay Range: $21.57 - $29.12 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
