Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an IT Audit Jurisdiction Manager aligned to Corporate Audit located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX . The role will align to Dow's Design Your Day approach and allows employees flexibility by choosing when to work remotely and when to attend on-site activities based on project work and role needs.
About you and this role
As the IT Audit Jurisdiction Manager, you will develop and support information technology audit programs, conduct risk assessments, perform analysis, advises management, and plan audit scope for specific work process across the organization. You will also use a risk based approach to evaluate the effectiveness of management’s design and implementation of internal controls.
In this role, you will require specialized, in-depth knowledge and advanced expertise in information technology as well as a working knowledge of the information technology and business process technology organizations. You will need to analyze and identify IT and non IT supported technologies and understand the risk each poses to the Dow Enterprise as well as the individual sites. You should be able to communicate difficult concepts to others and persuade others to adopt a different point of view.
It is your responsibility to be able to use sophisticated analytical thought and judgement to identify innovative solutions. You will need to be able to lead others to solve complex problems and potentially lead cross functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
Responsibilities – Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role
Leverages interview / audit and other findings to proactively identify risks and effectively develop value added recommendations for improvement as well as knowledge of company strategy, programs, and initiatives to analyze risk impact and proactively advise audit partners
Develops and maintains the audit schedule and resources to support the timeline for the overall schedule
Proactively manages a backlog of Information Technology audit opportunities and works to prioritize the list of opportunities based on the opportunity risk profile
Applies deep knowledge of information technology as well as cross function end-to-end work processes to identify and anticipate risk in relation to company strategy, programs, and initiatives
Communicates and collaborates with audit partners to effectively develop value added recommendations for improvement, and maintains presence in industry regarding audit best practices and drives implementation in the organization
Formulates strategic approach to ensure effective operational and ICFR risk coverage, and directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual audit problems
Conducts the annual risk assessment process and proposes the audits for the planning cycle
Leads development of data analytics to improve audit effectiveness and efficiency
Proactively and effectively communicates audit trends and best practices to audit partners, and provides advisory and consultancy support for process changes
Plans the high level audit scope and supports audit teams regarding relevant risks, deficiencies, and controls, and prepares an audit plan including areas to be audited
Coaches team members during the audit on audit techniques and methods of analysis, and aids audit teams in maintaining positive relationships with clients and resolving conflict
Proactively builds strategic partnerships with functional, business, and regional leaders
Proactively fosters a trusted partner relationship with information technology and work process leaders.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, 16 years relevant experience, or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher
A minimum of 10 years relevant experience
A minimum requirement for this US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
